All That Is Hot and Happening in Miami – Summer 2012

The Bazaar Miami

While many think of Miami as the ideal winter getaway, the truth is there is tons to do in this Florida hotspot in the summer too. Just ask the countless European footballers, jet setters, and fashionistas enjoying the Miami sun, surf, and nightlife right now–and there’s no better way to enjoy Miami than with a luxury villa rental. If you’re planning a summer trip to Miami here are a few events and spots you might want to visit:

The Bazaar by José Andrés – Modeled after the successful L.A. restaurant of the same name, Miami’s recently opened Bazaar will feature a menu developed by culinary director and celebrated chef José Andrés. Andrés has been an ambassador for Spanish cuisine in America and has enjoyed success with restaurants like Zaytinya, Jaleo, and China Poblano. The Bazaar marries molecular gastronomy with traditional Iberian fare in a gorgeous space designed by Philippe Starck, definitely a must-visit the next time you’re in Miami.

Molecular Gastronomy: Haven’s Nitro Ice Cream

Haven South Beach – An all-in-one type of destination, Haven is both eatery and lounge. A place where you can dine on small plates of deliciously prepared eats like Duck Duck Quail sliders, crudo, Chesapeake Skewers, and sushi while enjoying the luxe atmosphere. Not to be missed are the Sweet Frites, sweet potato fries seasoned with spiced brown sugar. Modernity is definitely prized here, from the molecular gastronomy on display (like the cocktails featuring liquid nitrogen frozen popsicles) to the futuristic LED walls.

Pubbelly – Small plates are a big trend in Miami at the moment, and Pubbelly is no exception. These dishes are Asian inspired and flavorful, from the McBelly (pork in a bun) to Spanish hams and dumplings stuffed with duck and pumpkin. If you’re looking to get your drink on, Pubbelly offers beers on draught as well as bottled, and also features a wine menu dotted with boutique whites and reds.

Zuma – A great place to see and be seen in Miami, Zuma is a restaurant that delivers on the trifecta of great food, ambiance and service. This upscale Japanese eatery’s menu includes selections of sashimi, nigiri and maki, as well as items off the robata grill like pork belly skewers and vegetables.

Don’t forget, Eating House, the pop up restaurant from Giorgio Rapicavoli will only be serving until August!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Beach Swim – Swimsuit models are descending on Miami for this beach-centric fashion week, which runs from July 19 to 23. Swimwear designers showing at the 2012 Swim Fashion week includeBCBGMaxAzria, Luxe by Lisa Vogel, Mara Hoffman, Natori, and Zingara. The Official Kick Off Party at The Raleigh and the Ocean Drive magazine Cover Party hosted by Jessica Gomes at 1685 Collins Avenue are notable events that will be occurring in conjunction with the runway shows.

Inaugural Burger, Beer & Balls Bash – On August 4th big name chefs will be at Miami Circle offering up their versions of American staples burgers and meatballs (the beer is just a bonus!) This event, presented by the Miami Taste of Brickell Food & Wine Festival, will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami.
If you’re planning to visit Miami this year consider a luxury villa rental for your accommodation. Service to rival a five-star hotel paired with the privacy and comforts of home, a luxury villa rental will elevate your vacation from ordinary to truly extraordinary.
