YOGA RETREATS AROUND THE WORLD

Wednesday, November 25th, 2020

With the recent turn in events, experts predict that we’ll all be seeking out wellness travel much more in the future. So, if getting back to nature, and learning to embrace a slower pace of life is high on your agenda, here’s some yoga destinations to consider, including our pick of Miami, Mykonos and Costa Rica villas.

Regardless of whether you’re an amateur or professional, yoga can be enjoyed just about anywhere. From the sandy shores of Greece, to hillside retreats of Costa Rica and glamour of Miami Beach. Here we delve into three of the best yoga destinations around the world.

Costa Rica
The practice of yoga is about body, spirit and mind, and no destination better embraces all three than Costa Rica. With luscious greenery, world-class beaches and a commitment to sustainable travel, the country is leading the way in progressive vacationing. Find any coastal get-away off the beaten track, and you’re sure to find a preserved part of the world for a spot of morning yoga.

For the ultimate in exclusivity, one of our favorite retreats is Villa Kamala. Not only is this eco-friendly Costa Rica villa hidden in the privacy of the rainforest, but it also comes with its own movement and yoga teacher. Designed around its natural habitat, Kamala offers a zen-like paradise for practicing all those ‘downward dog’ and ‘plank’ moves.

Miami
A city of two halves; one being its bright lights and after hours fun, the other is its wellbeing commitment. There’s endless locations for morning, lunch, or sunset yoga. The golden stretch of Miami Beach is a popular choice, although may enjoy the privacy of their own luxury Miami villa tuning in to remote yoga classes from the comfort of their App. With its own waterfront and dock, Villa Valentina is the perfect choice.

There’s also no end of free yoga classes to enjoy, including Bayfront Park, Coconut Grove and sunrise and sunset classes on Third Street of South Beach. Or, if you prefer inside workouts, then try one of the many world-class yoga studios in the city, including holistic studios – I Am Equilibrium and the Miami Life Center to name a few.

Greece
When it comes to getting back to nature, Greece is most definitely the word! Fresh mountain air, mixed with the sweet scent of orange groves, and pine leaf trees, combine to create a natural oasis for rest and relaxation. Couple this with the gentle lapping of the Aegean Sea, and it’s the perfect formula for a mindful break.

With as many as 227 inhabited Greek islands, you’re spoilt for choice. However, Mykonos is certainly worthy of a visit. Known for its high-end luxury, vibrant beaches and exclusive luxury villas for rent Mykonos, you’ll find yourself right at home.

Do like the A-listers, and tuck yourself away in a luxury villa with a private instructor to come to your door for personal workouts. In the quiet area of Ftelia beach, Villa Calypso is the perfect choice, offering a mesmerizing backdrop for all those yoga moves you’ll be trying out.

THE BEST YACHT PORTS IN THE WORLD – ‘SEA’ FOR YOURSELF

Monday, September 28th, 2020

If you plan on sailing the seven seas, or even just one of them, you’ll be enriched to know the best yacht ports in the world.

Going hand-in-hand with the jet set lifestyle, luxury vacation homes and five-star living, a superyacht is a perquisite for the billionaire boys and girls club.

From the tranquil waters of the French Riviera to azure depths of the Caribbean and the rocking party island of Ibiza, here’s four of the best yacht ports (and destinations) in the world.

Moor up to Miami

Surrounded by perfect blue waters and Miami mansions for rent, this is a city that attracts a high-calibre of client. As such, many of the luxury villas to rent in and around Miami come with their own private mooring for the superyacht collective.

Fully equipped to cater to its luxury audience, there is no shortage of yacht ports in Miami. Favourites include Coconut Grove, home to the U.S. Sailing Center and Miamarina at Bayside, within close proximity to the designer shopping mall nearby.

However, if there’s only one port to write home about, make it Miami Beach Marina. This bustling destination has plenty of space and access for boat owners, with easy access to the wider waters outside making it a firm favourite.

Come in February and you’ll be best placed for the Miami Yacht Show and international Miami Boat Show – unmissable events in the yachting calendar.

Residing in the Riviera

St Tropez is the place where high-rollers come to rub shoulders with the stars. When not staying on their elite superyacht, they can be found nestled in the sanctuary of their own luxury villas St Tropez.

Probably the most famous yacht port of all is Port de Saint Tropez. Spanning 700 berths across 22 acres of sun-kissed waters, it has been home to the super-elite since the 1950s. It still oozes glamour and aspiration even to this day.

Accommodating giant constructions of up to 70 metres, it’s a sailor’s paradise, with some of the most incredible yachts in the fleet living here. Better still, it’s in close reach to the many delightful bars, restaurants and boutique boltholes in the friendly neighbourhood.

Bathe in the beauty of Saint Barth

Where beach life is the way of life, Saint Barth has no shortage of space to moor up and nestle in to its sublime surroundings. Much like all of the island, luxury villas in Saint Barths are highly-sought after by its discerning visitors.

The lively spot of Gustavia is where you’ll find the largest port on the island. Here you will also find the charm of Saint Barths yacht club, a popular spot during its famous regatta.

High times in Ibiza

Simon Cowell, P Diddy and Lionel Messi are just some of the megastars that have made Ibiza’s yacht scene as famous as it’s clubbing.

Although this hedonistic island is home to luxury Ibiza rentals, many A-listers live between dry land and smooth waters on their superyachts. There’s several beach bars such as Blue Marlin often frequented by its yachtsmen.

With 24/7 nightlife and entertainment such as Pacha on its doorstep, Ibiza town is an unlikely backdrop for this rich and famous hangout. However, Ibiza Town Marina is one of the key spots to see and be seen in the world of luxury yachts. The quays and jetties are also popular for a mid-evening stroll too.

This art movement which exploded in Europe in the 1920s, later made its way to Miami, during a period of post-war development and infrastructure. Symbolized by symmetry, bright vibrant colours, glass blocks and mosaic tiles, it’s iconic style is still evident to this day.

Beautiful shades of pastel blues and pinks, offset with tall symmetrical poles and ‘angel wings’ and those unmistakable glass windows. Designed in 1939, it later reinvented itself as a ballroom and deli, and today goes by the façade of Señor Frogs eatery.

Three Of The Best Photography Destinations

Wednesday, June 17th, 2020

It’s estimated that we take some 93 million selfies a day! Whether you’re looking to incite FOMO in your friends, or show off your luxury villa rental, you’ll need the perfect backdrop to create the perfect picture.

From the combed beaches of Costa Rica, to the unparalleled nightlife of Miami, and the crisp white mountains of Aspen, here’s three destinations for avid photographers to visit.

The natural beauty of Costa Rica

Luscious greenery framed by swinging trees and turquoise waters – all that is great about natural beauty is celebrated in Costa Rica.

Emerging as a real tourist destination, particularly for sustainable travelers, there’s many luxury vacation rentals emerging to accommodate this growing market.

For photographers, there’s natural beauty spots at every turn. Some of the most popular can be found in the north of the country.

Rio Celeste Waterfall is not to be missed. This dramatic waterfall with an impossibly blue hue gives way to its moniker ‘Blue River’. This natural wonder can be found deep in the rural mountains, so be prepared for a hike.

Not too far away is Playa Hermosa, a picture-postcard beach, the sort where you can capture sweet sunset photos, or just a casual selfie – why not!?

If expeditions are more your thing, then wave goodbye to your luxury villa rental and take a trek to Poas Volcano National Park. Scale the mountain to the very top to capture breathtaking, some might same eerie, photos of its crater.

The energy of Miami

From neon-lights to golden beaches, Miami is a photographer’s dream with so much to capture. From the luxury of your Miami villa you can plan a different schedule every day and be blown away by the many sights on offer.

The 2.5 mile stretch of golden sand that is South Beach is a good place to start. With iconic lifeguard huts and endless blue waters, it’s the ultimate backdrop to create that all-American vibe.

From here, make your way down to Ocean Drive – this famous spot has been the base for many movies and TV shows, all demanding a snap from your lens.

As day turns to night, it’s time to trade in your Miami villa rentalfor the neon-lit hotels adorning the art-deco district (5-23 Street along Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue). Dazzling when the sun goes down, you’ll want to try slow-shutter mode to capture the energy and action of these vibrant streets.

The crispness of Aspen

Aspen; it’s where the rich and beautiful rub shoulders, and come to enjoy some ski and snow. If you’re people watching, then be sure to book a luxury aspen rentals to be positioned in the heart of the action. This will also serve you well for photographing the magical scenery nearby.

There are two spots in particular that are great for amateur and pro photographers alike. The first is Smuggler Mountain Observation deck, a sky-high viewing deck towering over the city at 8,800ft. This is the spot to capture envy-inducing views that you’ll instantly want to upload to Instagram!

The other is Maroon Bells – two famous peaks in the Elk Mountains. Resembling something out of a movie, every angle is a photo opportunity, with luscious lakes, open meadows and mountain peaks framing your shot with little effort required.
